I appoligize if this was asked before, but is there an easy way to add distance alerts to a poi file (other than the .25 mile redlight alert)? I think I'm looking for a program that can take a .csv file and convert it to a gpx file with the specified alert coded onto all the poi's in the file so I can use the automatic setting on the poi loader instead of doing it manually each time I update my poi's.
Thanks

In my experience, the only way to achieve automatic proximity alerts is to name the file in question "Safety".
Clarification needed, I think :-)

When you say "the specified alert ", what do you mean? - do you want to add a column to the csv file, giving different alert distances for each POI?
Or have you simply got in mind a distance (a mile, say) that you always want applying to all POIs.
If it's the latter, try this software:
http://cbrom.co.uk/Software/GarminGPXConverter113.msi
This was intended for converting Safety Camera .csv files to .gpx and at the same time, changing the Proximity Alert distance.

Also, here's what the POI Loader Help File says about Proximity alerts.
Proximity Alert Information
Proximity alert information can be calculated automatically based on speed information. It can also be included in .gpx data files or added in Manual mode.
POI Loader determines proximity alert information based on the following criteria, listed from highest to lowest priority:
1. Proximity alert information listed for individual POIs in a .gpx file. This information overrides all other proximity alert information.
2. Proximity alert information entered in Manual mode.
3. Proximity alert distance calculated by POI Loader based on speed information in the file name or in individual POI names. This calculation uses the following formula:
Prompt Distance = 36 seconds * Speed.
4. A default proximity alert distance of 400 meters/0.25 miles if the file name contains the word "redlight."
5. If there is a TourGuide audio file attached and no other proximity alert information is available, POI Loader assigns a proximity alert distance of 0.25 miles.
