Garmin 330c won't display all poi info, but nuvi 260 does, why?

Hi All,
I set up some POI's for the business I'm in, on my Nuvi 260. It works really well. I have too much info to display on the front poi screen, so all I need to do is press "more" and the data displays perfectly.

HOWEVER, when I went to load the poi's on a Garmin 330c there is no "more" button to access the additional information.

Am I missing something, or does the 330c not have this capability?

Thanks for any insights...

Are you referring to

Are you referring to Favorites or Custom POIs ???
The C330 will only display the closest 50 custom POIs and they can be scrolled by the arrows at the bottom right of the Custom POI screens !

Custom POI's.
On the 260 you can go to a second page (drill into) a custom POI to get more data about that particular POI. The 330c doesn't show a "more" page once you click on a particular poi.

Does that make sense?

Ihave a c340 and it does not

I have a c340 and it does not have the more button. Both units about the same.By putting the data in the right format I have no problem getting the name, address and phone number to show. You must have more data you want to show on the screen.

Yes, I want to show more

Yes, I want to show more data. Does anyone know of a way that the 330c can display it? The "more" button is a great feature, I wonder why it isn't included with the 330c's software...

.

Nope. It can't do it. The technology is older in that model line.

By right format, are you saying that entering data in the corresponding fields in a .gpx file works ok?

Or have you carefully added 'linebreaks' to achieve the effect you want?

I'm interested to know what the C3xx series does, if you overflow those .gpx fields...

...the Nüvi 3xx series doesn't have a "MORE" button either, but can be coerced into displaying a lot more detail than it does by default.

I use mostly csv files for

I use mostly csv files for my unit and use a simple multi-line structure without any problems so far.Example
-82.051047,29.058553,Sonny's ,"5209 SE Abshier Blvd Belleview, FL (352) 347-5400"

All data shows up on my screen using this method for me.

But that is a very simple example. The OP was querying the differences between the Nüvi 260 and the StreetPilot C330.

The Nüvi 2xx can output at least 5000 characters per POI - we were wondering if the C3xx series could be persuaded to do similarly (in the same way that the Nüvi 3xx series has to be 'persuaded'!).

Of course, even if it can, memory is a much more limited commodity on the C3xx and would quickly become an issue.

No, it can't

As stated by MM earlier in this post, the C330 is an older unit and does not have that capability. And Hornby is also correct in stating that the unit has limited space available, so adding that much data would just limit your ability to add POIs.
