POILoader Difficulty

When I try and use POILoader on my laptop all I get is a screen that says "Welcome to POI Loader. This program will retrieve.....etc" I don't get any buttons like next to push to continue. I have this problem with both the Nuvi 200 or the SD card alone connected to the computer via a card reader. I can get the program to work on a desktop computer we have but I would prefer to use my laptop if possible. Any suggestions???

Thank You!!
Averith

Update;

I found the answer to my question, the task bar has to be on the bottom of the screen for the buttons to show up. I had mine on the top of the screen.

POIs don't show up

Hi - I have used both POI-Loader 2.4 and 2.5.1, with the same results. I load the POIs, and I can see the POIs in the file poi.gpi within the \garmin\poi directory on the Nuvi 680. Yet when I press "Where To" followed by Extras -- the list is empty. Any idea what is going wrong? I have been trying to figure this out for 3 days. I can't figure out how to load these POIs.

Thank you,
Glenn

Don't Use 2.5.1

It is giving errors:

Try and load only 1 file the first time. Put it in a folder called nuvi680. Use a file that works - like the rest area file on this site, and put it in a folder called rest areas. Then when you use the poi loader, point it to the nuvi680 folder. It should look like this.

C:\nuvi680\Rest Areas\restareacombined.csv
C:\nuvi680\Rest Areas\restareacombined.mp3
C:\nuvi680\Rest Areas\restareacombined.bmp

try and see if it works now or not. use the poi loader in manual mode and make sure it loads about 1,816 points.

Let me know how it goes. Also look at

.

Yes, this is an issue with the location of the Windows taskbar. It must be at the bottom of the screen.

It works

Ok -- it was an ID 10 T (aka idiot) error. I needed to click on the Custom POIs. I thought that was a heading and they would appear beneath the heading.

Congrats

Now comes the hard part of deciding what you want to load...and then buying a bigger sd card smile

Well, that is totally bizarre. I too had my taskbar at the top with the same problems. Thanks for the info!

Even stranger is the fact that I am running a dual monitor setup and even putting it on the other monitor didn't help any. Oh well small price to pay I guess.
