creating poi

 

I JUST CREATED A POI THIS IS WHAT I DID LATITUDE,LONGITUDE,NAME OF SCHOOL,SCHOOL ZONE AHEAD SLOW DOWN@40KM/HR,CVS.I then changed it to a gpx file, now at the end of my poi instead of putting cvs would I put mp3 and would that give me the voice that would say school zone ahead slow down I have a garmin 650 Thank you I'm I right or way out to lunch. You need to have the longitude first, then the latitude, then the name, then the comment (which is optional).

Then you SAVE the file as a CSV. You can do this in Excel or Notepad.

Just so you know, you don't HAVE to convert it to a GPX. CVS files will work just fine.

You don't "put the mp3 at the end of your poi" to create the Custom Alerts. You need to create or download an MP3 that says what you want. Then you name and place it properly (according to the instructions) and it will be loaded as a Custom Alert.

Since you have put the @40 in your POI name (I don't think you need the KM part), you will get an alert at 40 (KM or MPH) depending upon how you load your files with POI Loader.

Note that the alerts will typically only sound if you are traveling on the road on which the POI is located, are within the alert distance, and if the POI is located sufficiently close to the road (typically 50 feet).
