Hooters POI

I was just checking the Hooters.csv and found one restaurant missing the address, by coincidence that restaurant is the "Original Hooters" it is one of the smallest of the chain and I believe the originators of Hooters still own that one and some of the others in Tampa Bay, the rest in all parts of the country and the world are franchises.

The correct address is 2800 Gulf to Bay Blvd. Clearwater, FL 33759 Phone:727-797-4008 and this is the correct lat/long N27.96068 W82.72143

That was a bit out of topic (Hooters POI!) and just a personal opinion. (For my part, I like their wings.)

Sorry I couldn't reply earlier...

Hooters of West Springfield‎
1290 Riverdale Street, West Springfield, MA 01089-4915
(413) 301-9741‎

Never tasted the wings before... Silicone versus saline is another topic...

Thanks

Hooters in Phoenix

I was in Phoenix, AZ, this month, visited several Hooters Restaurants while I was there. It appears that the Hooters of Ahwatukee, 4804 East Chandler Blvd #100, Phoenix, AZ 85044, is no longer there. I couldn’t find it by address or coordinates and the phone number, 480-496-0004, is out of service. There is another Hooters in Phoenix not listed in the file:
Hooters of West Phoenix
2820 N. 75th Ave
Phoenix, AZ 85035
Ph: 623-873-7935
Coordinates: -112.22135, 33.47933

Nova Scotia Hooters gone!

We have a new Hooters in Dartmouth (part of the Halifax Regional Municipality) in Nova Scotia, Canada. Located on Gordon Ave and Main St. The Coords are N44.68169 and W63.54089

Alas this location burned to the ground under "suspicious circumstances" and there are no plans to rebuild! (I think this location should be deleted from the POI file.) ty

They have food at Hooters? grin

The State College, PA location is no longer listed on the Hooters website so it likely can be removed from the files.

. or ..?

Do Hooters POI's show up on the map as one dot or two dots?

I was just wondering what the heck the icon for this looks like. Squeezed into a 24x24 bitmap.... razz

Anyone maintaining this?

Is anyone maintaining this file? As reported before, Hooters of Ahwatukee, 4804 East Chandler Blvd #100 Phoenix, AZ 85044 has been closed for some time now.

Darn, gotta bookmark this one

Some excellent memories from my last trips to Florida. They even had rather good oysters !

Anyone maintaining this?

The last update is over a year old (Nov. 2009). I sent a message to Perrdom. If he doesn't react, Miss POI, can you update the file?

Hooters update

didn't know if they were removed already from there - but all the Hooters in Syracuse area, Binghamton, Rochester and Buffalo NY have all been closed. Apparently they were all under the same franchise owner.

Updated POI

I just created a new Hooters POI based on the website listing, hope it is accurate! Those locations were not listed on the site, so they weren't included.

Thank you for restarting this effort. The current POI file hasn't been updated in almost a year that has seen many Hooters locations closed. I don't see your new file on this site. Did you send it to Miss POI?

I am on a bit of a brain vacation right now.

Miss POI

The Hooters POIs in my GPS have been disappointing over the past few years, ended up at a number of closed up buildings (always using the most up to date map too!). I was tired of waiting for an update to this POI, so I thought why not try making one myself?

Miss POI - I have no problem waiting until a later date, so take as much time as you need! Just let me know when to try uploading again and I will be ready to go!

I will venture a guess that the hold on existing projects is because of the multiple files that exist for the same project. There are numerous files that are of the same type (project). The problem is that some are maintained and others are not so when you download a poi you will get a poi that has not been updated in a while (such as Hooter's), or one that is good. There are numerous files that are in horrible shape. To respect the maintainers of these poi's, the maintainer needs to be contacted and given the choice to "give it up for adoption" or start "maintaining it".

I just read the FAQs on updating a POI (should have done prior to submitting a new file, sorry Miss POI and Perrdom!) I can see why it is best to have only one file for each POI, too confusing otherwise. If I receive the blessing, I'd be more than happy to attempt to keep this one up to date! I've known a number of locations to close down over the past year or two, bit disappointed when I drove through Nova Scotia last year and the place was closed permanently sad

Hooters of Montgomery closed

MONTGOMERY, Alabama-- The Hooters restaurant in Montgomery unexpectedly closed its doors for the last time on Monday after four years in business on the Eastern Boulevard.

The restaurant was one of nine Hooters to close its doors due to a licensing disagreement with the chain's new parent company, Hooters of America.

Would anyone happen to know what the other 8 are? I'm trying to update my POI, and would like to ensure it is accurate.

These locations have also closed:

Hooters of Ocala FL
Hooters of Valdosta GA
Hooters of Asheville NC
Hooters of Statesville NC
Hooters of Spartanburg SC

I believe these are the other 2, but haven't confirmed.

I was checking the website and these are the 9 not listed, however I have seen mistakes on their website before and I am a bit hesitant to trust completely. I was trying to find news articles of the closings, Found 7 of the 9.

POI Adoption

Hi Miss POI, is now a good time to ask about taking on this POI? Also, I'd like to take over the Tilted Kilt POI as well. I have attempted to contact both maintainers, but unfortunately I have not heard back from either of them.

These POIs have not been updated in about a year or more, and I am willing to keep them up-to-date.

Thanks for switching me to maintainer of Whole Foods!

Miss POI,
Please change the ownership of this file to shrifty. I have used the Hooters file he developed and it looks good. The existing maintainer has not updated it in a year now and has ignored all the inputs we gave him.

It is not good for the POI Factory image to let POI files degrade over time when we have volunteer to fix them.
