I was just checking the Hooters.csv and found one restaurant missing the address, by coincidence that restaurant is the "Original Hooters" it is one of the smallest of the chain and I believe the originators of Hooters still own that one and some of the others in Tampa Bay, the rest in all parts of the country and the world are franchises.
The correct address is 2800 Gulf to Bay Blvd. Clearwater, FL 33759 Phone:727-797-4008 and this is the correct lat/long N27.96068 W82.72143

I was driving just outside of Houston this week and saw a Hooters on the south side of the freeway. I checked my Garmin and specifically the Hooter POI and it wasn't listed.
It was at 22575 Katy Fwy Katy, TX 77450.

A Hooters Trick
The one good thing I learned at Hooters, besides the lovely waitresses, is this trick. They serve a pitcher of beer with a Zip-Lock bag of ice in it. No watering down of your favorite beverage, and it keeps it cool.
This from an Ex-AirForce Airman who has drank his fair share of suds.

No phone numbers?
One of the little bonuses I like on a GPS is finding a place in the POI files with a phone number in case I need to call ahead, get hours of operation, and so on. I really am glad I found this place, but phone numbers as part of the POI file would be great.
Phew
Thank goodness we have this file straight now!

Good idea and since it's yours (and surely nobody wants to steal it from you) go for it! Open the Hooters POI and start adding those numbers. The effort will be appreciated

Will do. I have already reformatted the file for my spreadsheet and will be creating both the CSV and GPX files from it. I should have something ready by the end of the day. It gives me a little break from the Applebee's file.

I just cheked their website. It is very easy to navigate to find the locations and their info. I have already grabbed all the phone numbers for the Alabama locations.
I should be able to upload a file with most (if not all) the phone numbers later today or tomorrow.

Updated: December 15, 2008 - Entries: 396
The file has been re-named to show it is all US & Canadian locations. Entries have been reformatted to include all phone numbers that were available. (all but 1 location) Names have also been made unique to help import into MGLN units.
I have also created and uploaded the GPX version of the file. I have asked Miss POI to link the two files.
I did NOT verify the accuracy of the co-ordinates, only the phone number and address
Let me know if you see any errors in the file.

Hooters - US & Canada (GPX File)
Thank you Perrdom for all this work, but there is a slight mix-up:
The link under Hooters - US & Canada (GPX File) relates to: Applebees - USA.gpx (1.34 MB) instead of the Hooters gpx file.
The CSV page is correct.

Am I doing something wrong?
The CSV file has the phone number data, but when I convert it and put it on my GPS, the phone number data is not there.
I tried MakeOV2 and POIEdit, and neither seems to pick up the phone number data.
Suggestions?

Hi NextActionHero,
The OV2 file does not contain the phone number. The CSV file contains the phone number but it is not formatted in a way that MakeOV2 or POIEdit can read them. You would need a CSV with the 3rd column formatted like this: "POI_Name>Phone" The ">" is used to indicate the phone number.
Anyways. To honnor this great institution (LOL!) I took the liberty of creating a GPX file and an OV2 file using Extra_POI_Editor. I used it to have an OV2 file with phone numbers. As for the GPX, I splitted the address fields using the proper M-Column formatting. I hope these files are of some use to the author or to yourself.

Thanks,
First, is your GPX file different (more complete) that the one I have at:
http://www.poi-factory.com/node/19163
Second, would it be easier if I precede all the phone numbers in my CSV files with ">". I try to include the phone number and both CSV and GPX formats of all my files. I just want to be sure that it would help.... and no cause any other problems.
Thanks again

1- Keep yours. Except for minor things, yours is perfect. I just proposed this GPX because I cound not find it because it is on a different page than the CSV and OV2.
2- The >phone is only for OV2 file. It will work also on the CSV, but only if the phone (with ">" ) is the last thing on yoiur 4th column (to be confirmed). I simply suggest when you create the OV2 file that you use Extra_POI_Editor, load your GPX and save as OV2. EPE will automatically do it for you if you start from your GPX.
Regards,
Turbo

Personally, I would never go
Personally, I would never go there for the food! I have not had a good meal at any of them. The are pretty consistent. Kind of fun to go for the experience but not a great place to eat.
