Garmin to TOmTom Poi?

Hey

What would I have to do to copy all the POI files from my Garmin c530 to my Tomtom One XL?

The thing I can't stand about the Tomtom is the severe LACK of POI files. My Garmin is like a Yellowpages compared to the Tomtom. If I'm out and about and need to contact one store or another, restaraunt to find time for Lunch/Dinner, store hours etc.etc. the POI files with phone numbers is extremely useful and was surprised to find the Tomtom had almost none for Canada.

thanks!

Are you asking about the built-in POIs or the Custom POIs that you have loaded?

For the built-in POIs, you can't do that. They are part of the map data.

For the Custom POIs, you need to load them from your computer to the other unit.

there is a file converter

there is a file converter that will allow you to change toe .cvs extension on your garmin poi's, to the .ov2 extension needed for tomtom

Where do you find the converter?

in my garmin there will be a link to a poi page. Somewhere in there you will find a website to download poi's, and when you get there as well you should see a link to convert back and forth between different file extensions. Not sure I can post a link in here, or I would paste it here?
