Nuvi 760 vs Nuvi 750

Looking at both I found out that the difference in operation is that 760 has a "handfree calling with bluetooth wireless".
My questions are:
A.What does it mean?
B.Is it worth paying 150US$ more to have the 760?
Thank you

If you have a compatible bluetooth

If you have a compatible bluetooth phone you can use the Garmin as the hands free device for making and receiving calls.

for example here in Albuquerque it is illegal to drive with a cell phone in your hand. You must use a wired headset or a wireless headset like a bluetooth enable product such as the Garmin so that you have both hands on the wheel. Unlike a simple headset however depending on your phone you can have access to other info from you phone to the Garmin like Call History, Voice Call, etc.

The advantage is that not only are you hands free in the use of the phone but since it is integrated on the Garmin it will control what you hear. For example with mine when I am listening to mp3 over the wireless FM transmitter to the car and I get a call the music pauses its playing automatically while I am on the call and then resumes when I hang up. Same is true for any alerts and messages that maybe trying to come through during a call.

Is it worth it? For me it was since I already have the bluetooth phone and the law requiring me to use something hands free in the car.

nüvi 680, nüvi 770, Garmin Mobile XT, etc...

I just got the 760 and

I just got the 760 and really like it. If you are not going to use the Bluetooth capability, go with the 750 and buy a Bluetooth headset for your cell.

If you have a cell phone that is Bluetooth compatible, you can use the Garmin as your handsfree device to talk with while driving.

The folks on the other end don't seem to hear me as well when I use the Bluetooth on the 760, so I am getting an external mike. It is convenient as heck to use, so I will suffer through it.

bluetooth bug...

interesting... I have both the 680 and 760 and with testing people tell me the 680 sounds better to them when using the bluetooth.

Just from a technical use perspective Garmin has a "bug" in the bluetooth interface. If I purposely want to use my phone and not the Garmin while in the car (not driving of course wink ) because I want it private or better quality for the person I am talking to I should be able to simply press the answer key on my phone as opposed to the answer icon on the Garmin screen. That is the way it works on my other bluetooth hands free GPS by Pharos. Not with Garmin... if I press the phone answer key and I am still in range of the Garmin; the Garmin has control and the conversation is going to it and not the phone. Other than that "bug" I do use it all the time and like it.

The nüvi 760 also includes the TMC Traffic receiver / power cord in addition to the Bluetooth. The TMC Traffic receiver is about a $200 item if purchased by itself.

I find both of these features to be very valuable. I use an external mic for the Bluetooth and play the audio through my car stereo.
