Garmin POI Loader Error

Using the latest version of POI Loader on Vista and latest 750 firmware the following line causes a POI Loader error.
39.040207,-119.948001,12ft 4in @ Cave Rock Tunnel
I can change the longitude and the line is OK. The coordinates are valid and display correctly when entered into Mapsource or the nuvi 750. I'm beginning to suspect a Mapsource or 750 bug.

Another person posted: I have a Nuvi 350 and just tried it with my Mac running Garmin POI loader for OSX. Same issue. I agree it's most likely a Garmin software bug.

This is one of a number of lines that fail from a POI file. Background from another post:
Discovery Owners Web Site
http://www.discoveryowners.com/cginfolinks.htm

Go to line Clearance 13’ 2” and column TEXT FILES. I extracted the txt file and used Excel to create csv file.

Longitude/Latitude

Your longitude and latitude are interchanged for Garmin Custom POI format. Needs to be like so:
-119.948001,39.040207,12ft 4in @ Cave Rock Tunnel

I got the file corrected for you. I used POI Verifier to swap the longitude and latitude. Removed the numbers in the file name to eliminate unwanted alerts. Can't post it here as it came from another website; but send me an email that accepts attachments and I'll send it to you.

Thanks

Still shaking my head that I didn't notice the column swap.

Would appreciate knowing more about unwanted alerts and alerts in general. Where can I find out how alerts are set up and I'm thinking that all of the locations in this file should be alert???

Thanks for your help and I'll send a email as soon as I figure out how.

Click on 'Retiredtechnician' on my post and you will find a 'Contact' tab. Use that to send me your email address that will accept attachments.

A good place to read on alerts is Garmin's POI Loader's Help. Also the FAQ right here in 'River City' contains good info on alerts.
