What unusual location have you gotten a GPS fix?

OK now I am really impressed with the SiRF Star III chipset. I have always been able to get the GPS signal to lock in quickly with this even in my office where there is a window near by; just like in a plane where there are windows.

However last night I was at this great play at a church called the Gospel by Scrooge. We knew it was going to be a full house so we got there plenty early. Of course I had to turn on my GPS to while away some time. To my surprise the unit was locked in on satellites inside the church and there are NO windows in this inner room. I was getting around 23 foot accuracy. Anyway I was impressed. Of course the friends around me with making jokes with me having the GPS on but I told them I was going to be able to find my way back to my seat during intermission. wink

The last laugh was on them because after the show we went out dining and from inside the church I used the POI to find the closest restaurants and make the call from the POI info to see wasn't busy. They didn't think it was such a bad idea after all now that I had my GPS with me. smile
