Garmin new maps

Garmin has release3d new mapping software. I have two C340s. Does anyone know if I can load this software on both, or will it self destruct after the first?

maps are single license

The maps are for single units. You have to have internet access when you load them that way they control single license. you can contact garmin for second license I think at a discount.

.

It won't self-destruct after the first, but you can only unlock the maps to a single unit. The update remains viable if you ever need to reload the maps to the unit to which they were unlocked.

I'm not aware of any discount program for additional units which is not to say that they won't give you a discount if you ask. However, I don't remember anyone indicating that they got one.

Are you certain? On every version I have previously purchased the unlock codes were good for 2 units. I have used almost every one of them on multiple units.

I believe MM is correct. Garmin changed their policy this year and the unlock code is good for one unit only.

Ok, I thought about asking that. It's been a bit over a year since I purchased a map upgrade.

One Unit Only

I have Upgraded 2 C33o's and I had to have a separate Disc for each. I also could not load it to my Etrex, Because it also had to have it's own disc, and a different set of maps. as it doesnt take the NT versions. Garmin was great though about sending me the discs. And helping to get everything set up..

Garmin changed their policy (based upon Navteq's requirements) on May (or was it June?) 1, 2007.
