Confused/Authorized Dealers

Try sending Garmin the ebay page so they can see for them selves that it says they are Authorized Dealers of Garmin

They are probably Authorized Dealers who are just advertising on Ebay to sell more inventory. Not necessarily Ebay dealers, if you see the difference.

what your saying. It's all in how you read it. But some say, in one line Authorized Garmin Dealer.

Were the prices significantly cheaper to warrant taking the chance?

From their web page:

Products sold through online auctions are not eligible for rebates or other special offers from Garmin. Pay Pal receipts will not be accepted. Online auction confirmations are not accepted for warranty verification. To obtain warranty service an original or copy of the sales receipt from the original retailer is required. Garmin will not replace missing components from any package purchased through an online auction.

If you buy online, you better make sure you have an invoice and do not pay with paypal. That is my take. Also - if possible when buying a unit pay with cash if at a store (and only buy the gps) so the receipt can go with the unit if you ever decide to upgrade.

Now that you've sent the information to Garmin they may try to go after the dealer if they are, in fact, not an authorized dealer.
