Garmin Map 2008 Upgrade disaster!

After many months of accumulating Favorites in my Garmin C340, I uploaded my one free copy of their map upgrade (2008). I was shocked to find that the upload actually erased all my favorites.
I drive for a living and relied heavily on them. Now they are apparently gone! Has anyone lost theirs this way?
If so, were you able to recover them?

Thanks, I called Garmin and they said they sent me the wrong disk. The one they sent was for a unit with no map. (Weird) They are sending the update disk. Thanks again
