Just spoke with Garmin and unfortunately, I have a Verizona smart phone. According to the Garmin support, since Verizon sells it's own brand of navigation system in some of it's phones, it "lock's down" other receivers so that you must use Verizon's. Thus, if you purchased the Garmin Mobile xt data card, you would, additonally, be required the purchase the Garmin receiver separately, since it is not available in the Verizon phones. This would cost an additonal $100.00 over the cost of the datacard which is approxomately $99.99, depending on the particular phone. It appears the Verizon is very proprietary when it comes to it's products. So much for me buying this product.

Blackberry

The Garmin Mobile works great on my Sprint Blackberry 8703e.

In fact, it starts up faster than my Garmin sp7200.

Yes, Sprint works...

Yes, Sprint works... Unfortunately, Verizon does not. I just this minute confirmed with verizon that the Garmin Mobile XT data card, will NOT works on Verizon smart phones. That's the one thing that I absolutely hate about verizon....they are the "sony" of cell phones....Very proprietary!

Also, in speaking with Garmin, If you want to add europe maps into the mix, it's cost is additional. At first glance I thought the $99.99 included Europe. Not so, it only covers USA.

It's all a money game isn't

It's all a money game isn't it. Those crooks lol.

Amen!

Amen!

I'm trying out a brew app called "Where" on my phone

An Alltel Samsung U-520...it can take your location from the phone's gps and give you sort of poi lists in the form of 'widgets' - including restaurants, etc...and weather radar...not sure it's worth the $1.99 a month for the app or not yet...

Garmin Nuvi 750 & c530 with RT's vol. mod., Vulcan Nomad

No plan for iPhone

Too bad they have no plan for supporting iPhone as it's the closest in terms of display area as Nuvi and the best screen resolution among all phones.

I just got me a Blackberry8830. Linkin' it a lot. Will like it more when my phone service provider turns on EVDO service.

Back to the topic...the Blackberry has a Telenav application built-in...have not tried it yet...but email is great on the thing. And Garmin does have something for the Blackberry, but I have yet to discover if my phone provider supports it or not.

If Garmin made one for iPhone, the screen will be larger than 350 and much, much higher resolution.

Still hoping...
