Updating Info !!! (nuvi 350 current versions)

If you just purchased your 350 in July AND you bought it from a retailer and not as a used unit, you would be entitled to get the latest map update for free according to the current Garmin Policy.

The latest Map Version is V.2008.

I suggest you call Garmin support and talk to them about an update. They may want you to Fax them a copy of your receipt to prove you just got your unit.

As far as the software... updates are available on the Garmin website for free.

I don't know how to update on a Nuvi 350 since I have a 2730 and a 7500, but you can ask Garmin when you call them about that update too.

Or.... ask how to do it on this forum board, there are a lot of very helpful and knowledgeable people here.

Actually, you are on the old map version, you need to be on version 2008.

You should be able to go to garmin.com, and assuming you have registered your product and have access to mygarmin.com, NT v2008 is available at no cost. Or you can email or call Garmin for the update. Your unit was new and purchased through an authorized retailer, right (not refurbed or an ebay unit)?

go to Garmin.com and download webupdater. when you plug Nuvi in to your computer it will search for software updates. it won't look at map updates and download that but the os is checked and updated automatically.

i could not find the published map update policy info from Garmin. where is that, i had to buy the new 2008 maps after only about 90 days of ownership.

On the Garmin Support site for software updates for the nuvi 350, it still shows ver 4.6? I haven't looked at my 350 though.

Just used Webupdater to check for new software for my 350 and it said I was up to date so went to Garmin site and the only update they are showing is 4.60 from May 8th

I had to put in my serial number. Gave them my address and they said they would ship it to me.

Garmintech and other Gramin employees monitoring this site have stated that the policy is if you purchased your unit within 60 days of the request, you would be eligible for a free update. This was back in July and they generously backdated the offer to May 1, 2007. I would believe that the 60 day limitation is now once again in effect.

Thanks to all the responses related to updates.I called Garmin today and they told me that I will get free DVD of Map Update 2008 City Navigator® North America NT within two weeks.

I went through the painful process of v4.9 like most of our friends experienced and later went back to v4.6. And, finally updated to v2008 map.
