odd update 2026.30

I finally got around to updating my DS61 and once complete I checked the unit for the version and found something odd.

I found everything updated to the new 2026.30 but I also have a 2nd copy of

CN North America NT 2026.2 & 2026.3 Parkopedia and Foursquare.

I don't recall having those two items for both the current and prior update before still on the unit.

The DriveSmart 61 has always

The DriveSmart 61 has always had Foursquare, so having the database is normal.

Yes, I know, I bought it when it first came out, but it hasn't kept the previous update along with the new one.

When I look at my mapinfo I see two instances of each, the current 2026.30 & the previous 2026.20 Normally the previous one is overwritten, not kept, that is what I am saying.

Drive Smart 66

I will have to check my gps to see if it has this.

Log Files Tell A Lot

As I recall, there's two log files and one in particular is extremely detailed, but lists EVERYthing downloaded, written, deleted, and errors encountered in the process of an update. If no error found, it's possible that the removals were inadvertently omitted from the installation script.

GE or Wi-Fi?

Out of curiosity, did you update using Garmin Express, or over the air (Wi-Fi)?

GE with my PC

The map itself is just 2026.30, it's the parking and foursquare that has the current AND previous copies on it.

I misread your initial post. Sorry.

It sounds like a glitch in that the old database wasn't removed.
