Custom POI icon missing??

Sorry maybe I’m not being clear. I don’t see the entire app/icon/menu called “Custom POI” on the screen so there is no individual POI anywhere.
So your link seems to be answer about missing a select few POI’s.
I’m talking about an entire folder lost on GPS.

Have you just updated maps? And after that the Custom POIs disappeared?

Some of the time, when I update the maps using Garmin Express, the update does not properly complete even though GE says it did. The fix is easy; just run the update again. I run the update until it completes properly.

Related to this, make sure the GPS battery is fully charged before the update. A computer USB port may not be enough to assure a charged battery. I use a wall charger. A discharged battery may prevent a proper update.

You state that you tried installing custom POIs with Garmin's POILoader but it failed. Please try again and if it fails, tell us what error message you got.

I'm pretty sure I've read that some or all Garmin devices won't offer a Custom POI icon on the Whereto page unless some custom POIs are loaded to the device. It sounds like you have no Custom POIs successfully loaded. Note that unless you alter the default custom POI filename in POILoader, the default POI.gpi which had your original custom POIs would be deleted before uploading new Custom POIs, and since the POILoader failed to install new Custom POIs, none are on your device.

One other thought. On the Whereto page, have you scrolled to the bottom and tapped Add Shortcut? That will be where the Custom POIs icon will be to add it to the menu. Also note that you can reorganize the location of each shortcut on the Whereto page so your most-used ones will not require scrolling.

I was just about to update 4 of my GPSr's. I'll wait to see how this is resolved.

I have successfully loaded my POIs onto the device. I have "Custom POIs" listed in the menu categories. When I select this option, all I get is the spinning arrow, indicating it can't find my POI file. I do this exact procedure on my old Nuvi65 and it finds them just fine...why are my custom POIs not visible on this device?

OK, you have a Custom POI option that works on the Where To page with your nuvi 65 but not on your Garmin model _______

Are the Custom POIs being loaded to the device or SD card on the two devices?
