Garmin astro 430 main menu disappeared

The main menu has disappeared, there is not even a “settings” item when I press the “menu” button twice, I don’t see the items I’m used to, I can’t even open the settings item.

What can I do to return all the items if I can’t access the settings?

Not familiar with the device

But the manual says to remove the batteries for a short period of time, then reinstall, and that should reset the device. Probably worth a try.

There is also a master reset procedure at https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=9ktqadEV3l91jg3tIHXR48...

Astro 430

is a dog tracker. Not a Garmin for road use such as we deal with here.

Don't Lose Your Pooch

That's a useful tool if it can track and keep from losing your pooch.

Thanks for clarifying

I had no clue what that was either. The 430 was one of Garmin's early IFR-certified aviation units that took the flying world by storm 25ish years ago. I thought maybe the Astro version was an upgrade that allowed it to be used in space. grin
