misc. folders; purpose, can some be deleted?

At C:\Users\jwint\AppData\Local\Garmin_Ltd._or_its_subsid\express.exe_Url_44vgoklnmwzol3f5bx0zhrwgflwejvvx I find 59 folders present, all around 1.6 KB in size and dates as far back as 3 years (when computer was purchased). Is this just another case of Garmin Express not doing well cleaning up after itself? Can most of these folders be deleted?

generally

I would keep the newest one and delete the others. Ive deleted lots of garmin express stuff in the past and never had issues, it just puts it back. I deleted a whole wack of stuff off of our DriveSmart 65's that i think isn't relevant. The difference here is i have a backup of the units just in case. So go ahead and wack away..lol. BTW these files you want to delete are so small. Mine combines are only 6.04 KB (6,193 bytes). Not worth deleting

I agree they are small, but

I’m in agreement that they are small, but in my own mind Garmin needs to clean up after itself. There are map files left behind that are around 7 GB in size. Some of us have great IT skills, some of us not so much, so Garmin needs to make things easier for the guy without the skills. I remember a few years back, an individual was running out of room on his hard drive, and had dozens of map files that I think comprised over 100 GB of space.

Map files

In my experience I have found that all but the current and last to that can be deleted. I found that if I deleted the last to the current map file MapSource or Basecamp did not find the maps.
So if the current map file is 2420.20 do not delete 2420.10 but any before that should be OK.

whats the point?

Garmin needs to clean up after itself? Then just leave everything alone.
I mean really, whats the point if you want garmin's software to do it? But you came and your last line was "Can most of these folders be deleted?"
We come here year after year for a lot of reasons. I myself like my garmin to be lean and mean. Since maps get bigger and space gets smaller and smaller i delete all sorts of stuff txt. files keyboard files languages files anything and everything i do not need. I do the with express also.
I can tell you it leaves stuff behind. I run 5 hd's so i have some space.
If the dates are old i delete. If its a temp directory i delete. But i also don't have a thing to lose by doing this other than time. If and i say if i delete something wrong from express it will correct it next time i open it. If not we just uninstall and reload it. No info lost just time. I take our garmins and delete away, if it don't work well then i have an exact image of both those drives even though they are two the same. Only time lost no info. My Gpx and custom poi files are aslo backed up some where else. If i lost those i might cry....lol, because thats my info. So Lets just recap.
Gps....Back it up, test the backup. Delete away. Software just delete the stuff if you don't like it, see what happens. Practice makes perfect
