Premium 93 down to 5.09 Today
How So?
One can hope more competence is in office in 2024 to bring the country out of this recession.
These fuel prices are a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It's a global issue.
When you are dead, you don’t know that you are dead. It is only difficult for the others. It is the same when you are stupid.
Motorcycles
Loving my new Honda CB500X that averages 75 MPG, with mounts for my GPSMAP 66sr, iPhone, and beeline moto, of course.
I'm doing all I can to cause demand destruction.
These crazy prices are caused by fear mongering and opportunists. Lobster was $25/lb a couple weeks ago... nobody was buying it. It is now down to $6-$9/pound. Same with fresh fish and a few other items.
Don't let this become normal.

I first got married we took a trip to ME. Those lobster pounds in NH were selling lobster for like $5/lb cooked. No, it wasn't 1926, 2009!
we were
in NYC this weekend. Paid $4.239 in NJ, and now it's dropped to $4.15. Premium $4.93, nah, not artificial pricing hahahahahaha
That's Costco, but even they must play supplier's games. Imagine these games are invented by adults.
What?

Indeed... How does that explain rising prices before the war started?
Easy

We saw Russia amassing equipment all around Ukraine for months. Satellite imagery was published. We knew for months, and when it was made public that Russia looked like they were planning to invade Ukraine, that's when the price of crude started going up.

Here
the prices are always higher...collusion from the few companies that own stations? But has dropped 50 cents in the last few weeks

unreal
Costco Glen Mills PA, Costco Cherry Hill NJ, same price.
$4.39 / $4.85.
That's straight manipulation by the distributors.
NJ has been 30-40 cents cheaper until the war. If I were on the NJ side I'd be upset.
Then you go 60 miles north to Costco, Edison NJ.
$4.14 / $4.93.
So regular is 25 cents less, and premium 8 cents more, than Cherry Hill?
See how it's all out of whack?
Strictly 3 Costco locations above.

Recession? Where did that nonsense come from?
Employment is up over 6 million jobs in the last year and unemployment is below 4% for the first time in over 40 years. Everywhere I go, I see "Help Wanted" signs posted.
There is no question that the oil companies are gouging the public when oil prices are below their 2008 level and gas prices at the pump are almost triple what they were then - with record profits at all the oil companies. But THAT is not a recession. A recession is when more people are out of work, not when oil company executives are getting record bonuses. (Although THAT may CREATE a recession.)

Same state but only 40 miles apart, the regular gas price is $1.599 different.
Too High
On a trip and need to get gas tomorrow. I'm currently in Oregon and the cheapest I see is $5.05 for Regular. Just checked Gas Buddy and the cheapest gas where I actually live is Costco for $5.25 for Regular.

Just paid $4.29 per gallon. Last tank of gas lasted just under four months (I haven't been driving much lately). Most of the places I need to go are walkable, so I've been doing that rather than driving.

Neighborhood gas station in New Hyde Park is $4.13today.
Costco was $4.09 last week but that is in Oceanside.
Anything other than regular is still very high.
Thanks....
This is useful info.

gas prices
here in Tn our gas went from 4.49 down to 3.59 but now going back up again is back up to 3.69-3.77 as of yesterday.
down smoothly
Here in Albuquerque, the Gasbuddy last 30-day graph is an impressively smooth decline from $4.69 to $3.91. The big membership discount stores are currently selling regular between $3.53 and $3.65

Down to 4.09
We are down to 4.09 at the BJ's in Farmingdale.
again
strictly costco.
Glen Mills PA 2 cents more for regular at $4.29, than Cherry Hill NJ.
this is not normal, it should be 20+ cents more in PA, usually closer to 30 cents as of 2019. Did we have some tax waived?
But, Edison NJ, 15 cents less than Cherry Hill, yet only 60 miles apart both in NJ.
Things seem still to be out of whack.
Now Delaware is by far the cheapest, it's $4.05, and beats all of the above.
I wish people in NJ would get really mad so I can get cheap gas again lol
Gas
Gas in Wyoming is on the average of 20 to 50 cents cheaper than Utah.
Still cost me $150.00 for just over 32 gallons.

$150/32 = $4.68.
I do notice this AM that the commodity price of gas went up by $0.16/gallon so that may slow the prices headed downward. Hopefully only for a day or two.
Regular is about $4.55 here in Chester County PA.
John from PA

Paid $3.86 with a low in the area of $3.65. I never thought I'd be excited about this price!!! It's still too high and with all the politicians, executives, and companies lining their pockets, the lower prices probably won't last.

I live in a very, very rural mountain town in eastern West Virginia. Normally our gas prices are about 30 cents over other areas, which is expected. However, in the past 3 weeks our prices have been dropping and are below everyone near us, possibly the entire state as well as the western side of Virginia.
$3.79 for the past week.
SoCal Costco Gas
Cheapest near me is $520 regular (was $5.70 a couple of weeks ago). Other gas stations as high as $6.60.

Getting Better
Gas Buddy is definitely a big help.

Figures
Well, doesn't it just figure that as soon as the wife retires, we can't afford to travel the US in our RV as much as we planned?
It's about the Line- If a line can be drawn between the powers granted and the rights retained, it would seem to be the same thing, whether the latter be secured by declaring that they shall not be abridged, or that the former shall not be extended.
thanks
Looks good

You can look into driving as work? I thought it wasn't worth it, but what I mean is FedEx Custom Critical and the likes. You get this pretty cool truck that's easy to drive, it has everything in it I think bathroom, stove, etc., and couples actually do it to be able to be on the road. I might be making this up but I thought the pay was $60k, which isn't very good as it's 2 people. But the people that did it were more or less seeing the country and retirees, so they were ok with the pay, it's someone else's truck and fuel...then when fuel prices come down if they ever do, you switch back...
In SoCal
I just paid $4.899 for unleaded reg...
Better n' $5 +
Never argue with a pig. It makes you look foolish and it anoys the hell out of the pig!
Paid $4.049 in Claymont
Paid $4.049 in Claymont Delaware, just over the PA line (I live literally 5 minutes from this station in PA). Normal price is $4.249, 20 cents off if you also buy a car wash. Average price on the PA side of the line was $4.399 to $4.479.
The car wash is so-so, one of those that you drive in and the washing gizmo's circle your car, knocks the dust off so if your vehicle is really dirty it's not worth it. But for a $5 simple wash and a 22.5 gallon tank near empty you make out.
