Installing Rest Area POIs on DriveSmart 61

I am trying to install the Rest Area with Restroom POI on my DriveSmart 61. I downloaded and installed the POI loader from the Garmin website and the sox download.
I downloaded the POI file along with the BMP and wav files I wanted. I placed these files in a separate folder on my computer.
I ran the POI loader program and followed the steps, pointing the program to the proper folder. When I hit the "Next" button, I received a "Congratulations" message stating the files had been downloaded.
I looked on the GPS and found that a 252KB GPI file for the Rest Areas with Restrooms had been created.
The POI loader program did not ask for any further inputs. I had previously set up this POI file on my Nuvi 2460 and it asked for a distance for how far ahead the rest area is located. Installing this POI on my DriveSmart 61 did not ask for this input.
Is this still how the program works?
It does not appear that the Rest Area POI is working as I drove by two rest areas with not a sound or image on the GPS. Any ideas?

When running POI Loader you need to select manual mode to set distance alert. See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25721. Scroll down to Finally, Transfer the Files to Your GPS number 16.
