No issues so far

I'm still mid-update, but so far, no issues. It has downloaded the map and is transferring it to the GPS now. Time remaining 27 minutes.

An issue with 7.6.0 maybe

About two weeks ago it was reported (see http://www.poi-factory.com/node/51471) that there was some form of an issue with GE 7.6.0. I personally experienced some flaky behavior when I opened 7.6.0 but after doing a Windows update the behavior seemed OK.

So you might want to uninstall 7.6.0, reboot, then reinstall from the Garmin site, which supposedly installs 7.5.0, then reattempt the map updates.

If you do this please report back if the Garmin download of GE yields 7.5.0 or 7.6.0.

Use 7500 and not 7600?

I am currently downloading 2022.20 and appears to be working without issues.

I was using GE version 7402 and advised a newer version was available. It then downloaded version 7500 and using that version for the map update. I never installed 7600 so those experiencing issues maybe the cause.

I just had that happen while updating my DS55. Was at 75% and had 10 minutes left. Afterwards said the new map was installed. Updated my RV780 just fine though.

Perhaps it has something to do with the map install on the computer. Did that with the DS55 but not with the RV780.

I think the problem is with the computer version. Both my GPS devices work fine. Basecamp and Mapsource both say the latest version needs to be unlocked.

Express updated to 7.7 and

Express updated to 7.7 and all 4 of my units updated to new map and firmware. W10-20H2.

I never get lost, but I do explore new territory every now and then.

Now on GE 7.7.0 but interesting path getting there.

Interesting, I updated two units this AM using 7.6.0. I've now updated GE to 7.7.0 which seems to be a bit flaky again. I would click the desktop shortcut and I would get the GE splash screen but nothing beyond that. I set up a new desktop shortcut pointing to the new executable (same name as old one) and everything seems fine.

Garmin Express

I just installed 7.70 too, and no problems

I did have that problem.

I did have that problem. The solution was to have GE reinstall the map to the computer only. For reference, please see my post here:

Hope that is helpful.
