Took about an hour total for both. The download for the Nuvi 350 has been changed and not for the better. Since the storage space on the 350 is limited, you now have a choice of either downloading Canada with border states, or downloading the US without the northern states. No much good when you live in Ohio, and Kentucky or W. Virginia is not included on the map. Garmin did not think this one out before they changed the download format. Used to be that you could download the eastern US or the western US. Maybe they will change this with the next update. (Or, maybe not?)

You should be able to download the entire NA map to computer when you update one of your newer devices, then use MapInstall to select and install the exact regions you want on your 350. If you use a SD card, you should be able to get all or most of the NA map on your 350 with MapInstall by putting as much as will fit in internal storage and installing the remaining regions on the SD card. You just need to make sure that the segments installed to the SD card do not exceed 2 GB.
Doing Wife’s 2689LMT right now, and Updating POI’s afterward.
Now this is interesting.... My ISP gave me an upgrade
Earlier in week. Went from 60/6 to 100/10, and was kinda nosy as to speed of update. Started out at 6-7, till about half was downloaded, then jumped to 15 + or -...
Must be their end as recent speed-tests have not varied more than 5-7 from maximum throughput from test locations nationwide.
Gigabit Wired Ethernet & all drives in computer SSD
Then I did my 2689LMT. 130+. !
Then did 660, and speed was faster
I suspect the first one was copying files not downloading.
My error
-- A 2689LMT in both our cars that we love...
And a 2011 Ford Escape with Nav System that is totally ignored!
I'm updating, but I don't know why. This will be the first year where we basically have not left the house and I'm into my 80th year. At the last 6 month oil change, the car had less than 2,000 miles on it.
I noticed after doing the map download then going back to do the cleanup a small change. (C:|ProgramData|Garmin|CoreService|Downloads|Map) .When you click on downloads you see in my case a folder for 2021.20 (10.1 GB) and 2021-30 (6.31 GB) . Before all maps were in the same map folder.
I have a Nuvi650. On the Nuvi650 itself, I have the region "Canada and the Border States".
I also have an SD card. On that SD card, I have the region "Lower 48 States. South East"
I attempted to change the region for the Nuvi650 itself. Garmin Express would NOT give me any options, but to re-install "Canada and the Border States". (The drop-down list that should show all regions only showed"Canada and the Border States") The other regions would not show-up as available options.
Any thoughts on how to "unstick" "Canada and the Border States" as the only option of the Nuvi650?

Look at my reply to Maddog67 earlier in this thread (about 9 posts up on this page). The same solution should work for your nuvi 650.

to 2021.30. Started with updating GE to version 7.1.4.0. Of course, had to uncheck the Always keep GE running in background…sigh. Map updates went well. About 50 minutes from start to finish for the first unit and then about 30 minutes for the second one. Not bad for an old Windows 7 laptop with a little over 3 MB/s download speed over WiFi.
Went in to deleted leftover old SID, JCV and SQLite files after update to keep more free space on units. Pleasantly surprised that Garmin did a good clean up of old files this update.
We're now hoping for things to settle so we can make a real trip to test the units out. Until then, we will drive around locally and do a few tests on the new map.
Installed new maps on two devices. First one took more than one hour to download and install. Second was much faster because I saved maps on computer in the first download. All working fine. Thanks for the update.
Thanks

Did you install the maps to your computer or just to the GPS device? It defaults just to the device unless you change the option.
You may want to look at this post about files that remain on your device after map download.
