Planning a trip from Denver back to Virginia in August. A straight route is basically I70 to I64 but thinking about making this a tour of interesting things in the midwest, if such a thing exists. Any suggestions along the way?

Comfort food.
My wife has had an extended illness, so I am responsible for the cooking. I am no cook, so it is a struggle for me to come up with something every day that both of us will eat (makes me appreciate what she put up with all those years). Tonight I decided to make an old easy reliable (non healthy) recipe … Tater Tot Casserole. I had forgotten how easy it is to make and how good it tastes. You can't go wrong with anything that has cream of mushroom soup and hamburger in the ingredients!
It will give us a few days of something simple to heat up in the microwave (gets me out of cooking).
