Delete Faves from GE?

GE keeps repopulating my GPS' after removing old, and outdated faves.

How do you delete this file?

Strange ...

AFAIK Express doesn't do that. Check the GPX folder on your device. I suspect the issue is that you have a gpx file there that contains old waypoints/favourites. Delete everything in the GPX folder, reboot your device and delete the favourites you no longer want. They shouldn't then reappear.

I don't think you delete the current.gpx file

Current.gpx contains ALL the

Current.gpx contains ALL the favorites, including the unwanted. One has to download the favorites to BaseCamp, then delete all the .gpx files, then reboot.

After editing the favorites in BaseCamp to remove unwanted Favorites, then reconnect and upload the list of edited Favorites.

Does

Does not matter if you delete current.gpx as it will get recreated when the device reboots. You will not lose anything by deleting it as all the data needed to populate current.gpx is stored in memory.

No need to use BaseCamp. You can simply delete the favourites via the menus on your device once you've deleted all the gpx files as I explained above.

Maybe

I'm wrong, but isn't the temp.gpx that restores/recreates the current.gpx ?

Yes, and the ones in

Yes, and the ones in Archives. That's why the old Favorites keep coming back.

Could be any name. Depends how it got there. That's why I always suggest deleting everything in the GPX folder.

Personally, when I have

Personally, when I have Favorites that I can't get rid of, after downloading them to BC, I nuke any and all .gx files. If I don't, I'll find the three Garmin locations back in the Favorites. Kansas, Europe, and Asia.

Bottom line is

Delete all .gpx files found. Then delete the favorites you don't want using the menues from the garmin. Reboot and a new current.gpx is created with only the favorites you want.

Thanks, all

I'll go through the GPS this weekend, and install base camp to remove the crap and corruption from Faves.
