Keeping The Windmill Alive - Your Last Trip? – August 2017

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

To See the Eclipse

Drove down to Clemson, SC and rented a house for a week, had my kids and their families there. We went for the eclipse, but also celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary. Both events were fabulous. Have always wanted to see a total eclipse and finally got to see one. GPS kept track of traffic problems. Weren't many. Drove down on Friday and returned on Thursday. Missed the crazy traffic.

Back

Well I drove to my friends on Friday afternoon. What should have been a fairly short drive, was not because people leaving work early to leave for the weekend.
Almost as bad coming home today.

I HATE HEAVY TRAFFIC ???

It was awesome.

I flew my Lear Jet to Nova Scotia to see it. Big mistake.

Ok, I admit it. I lied.

I flew it to Washington State this time.

Taking a friend out to her birthday dinner.

The Melting Pot - Birmingham, AL

GPS worked great! To get to the actual location: Turn on to Doug Baker Drive, Take 2nd Left, Go to deadend at theater at top of hill, Turn Left, Go to deadend, Turn Left again, Park near escalator at bottom of hill, Elevator is behind escalator, Melting Pot is on your right when you exit the elevator on 2nd floor.

Service was excellent! Food was wonderful! Best cheese fondue is the Wisconsin Trio. If not on the menu, tell the waiter that directions are on the wall in the kitchen. Delicious!

Hope you're healing quickly now that you're home.

Stayed home with the hurricane/tropical storm closing roads

by flooding town (Houston). Only went out to run a couple of errands over lunch and it looks like several gas stations haven't restocked.
