Anybody know if nuvicam can be updated to include some of the new garmin functionality, such as upcoming road warnings, messaging alerts, etc.?

I highly doubt you can
I highly doubt you can upgrade it with these new features. If we could do these upgrades then they won't be able to sell new devices every year...
