New Version of Garmin Smartphone Link

Garmin just released a new version for iOS. The graphics are totally different. I will test functionality this morning and report back. The update notes mentioned bug fixes. I tested it this morning going to work and it seemed to work fine. I mainly use it for live traffic. It stayed connected to my iPhone 6 with no issues.

Just updated from v1.8.2 to v2.0, although I have to say I liked the look of the previous version better.
. 2 Garmin DriveSmart 61 LMT-S, Nuvi 2689, 2 Nuvi 2460, Zumo 550, Zumo 450, Uniden R3 radar detector with GPS built in, includes RLC info. Uconnect 430N Garmin based, built into my Jeep. .

The smartphone update was quick and easy. With the update, the phone connected with the nuvi perfectly and the nuvi apps appear identical to what they they were before.

Since I don't look at the phone display of the app, I see no change. I don't understand the email release note or see how it would work. But all in all, there's no reason not to update the phone.

I haven't had a chance to pair and run the app with my 2689 yet but the changes I have seen are in the interface, instead of a one page scrollable colorful set of app buttons now there are two washed out looking pages, no scrolling (up/down)
I liken it to the interface change between the last two versions of Streets and Trips, where the last got very plain looking.

It appears to be change in interface only. I don't see anything new. There may be some under the hood improvements. Nuvicam still does not reconnect if you disable phone calling feature.

Imagine having emails / txt posted on the GPS especially while driving...
Almost as useful as the GPS intercepting phone calls..
But what would I know?
