gif as a account picture

Hey guys
how does one get a gif as their profile picture?
I have uploaded the gif and it is my current picture but it is suppose to have a rotating compass and it doesn't so I was just wondering how everyone else got their gif's as profile pictures. any help would be awesome!

Properties

Check the properties of the GIF file (right-click-->Properties and make sure it follows the website's size restrictions: max dimensions 85x85 pixels and the file size less than 25kb.

See here

There was thread about animated gif not working. Check here:

http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25528
http://www.poi-factory.com/node/16132

Checking FAQ is always good idea, as most problem were already talked about, and often solved.

I tired

I looked at both threads and even resized the gif inside the limits re uploaded it and refreshed the cashe and still no revolving! haha I assume the operator is the issue at the moment but I will play with it some more!

It is revolving

I see your avatar is revolving! It must have been the nut behind the wheel!

Ditto, mostly

In MS Edge and Internet Explorer, it is revolving. With my normally used Chrome browser, even with Clearing the Browser data and looking for (and not seeing) a setting to enable animations, I continue to see a static image here while I see animation in other users' avatars in Chrome; e.g.:

tailspin: http://www.poi-factory.com/user/14984

Are there any Chrome folks out there that can get this one to rotate or let me know what I need to do to? Given that I do see others' animations, it seems to me I still have a cache clearing issue.

Thanks for the quick response.

Well, that's odd. I did try a 2nd PC with Chrome and continue to not see The Pool God's rotation.

Just a thought

Have you tried F5 ?

You might need to clear your web browser's cache to see the newest image (press F5)

Nope

Darn, pressing F5 as well as going to Settings and Clearing Browsing Data leaves me with a stationary image. I also tried a Ctrl F5, a Shift F5 and a Shift Ctrl F5. Hmm, what about it being an ISP issue affecting The Pool God and me:

http://refreshyourcache.com/en/cache/

Internet Service Provider Cache

In the same way that your web browser has a cache of recent web pages, your Internet Service Provider (ISP) may be doing some caching on your behalf.

In some (rare) cases, even though you are using shift-refresh to get new data from a webpage, the pages still seem to be old. This may be because your Internet Service Provider also has a cache and their cache may not be set up quite right, and they are not downloading the latest web pages.

When you encounter this problem you will have to communicate with your ISP to fix this problem

Using chrome

I am using Chrome and did not reset anything. The gif is revolving.

I'm now strongly leaning towards it being a caching issue by my ISP. I remember having this happen once before with them and had to call them to manually refresh their cache. This was when I had a personal web site and my revisions weren't appearing. This new issue with The Pool God's avatar isn't a critical issue for me so I'll just wait a while and expect that eventually the ISP will have refreshed the image and I'll see it working.

Thanks to all Chrome folks who responded and to the two who reminded me of the F5 computer browser refresh.

Firefox

Works in Firefox and Chrome both for me.

It didn't for me yesterday (see above) but it worked today. Let's hope The Pool God also sees the fruits of his labor! Now I'm dizzy watching it spin.

It stopped spinning!

It stopped spinning just now - it was working before.

Chrome

Edit - clicked F5 and it started up!
