App to have custom POIs on Android

I think I have read on one of our post that there is an app that you can put your Custom POIs on your Android phone.

I have search and can not find it. I don't want to use Copilot as it gave my Note 4 problems. I just need something to put the file on the phone so I will remember where everything is. I have made several for an upcoming vacation. Last night I was transferring them one at a time to Here.com but that is going to take a lot of time.

All I need is an app with a map to look at them. I don't need routing.

Does anyone know of one for Android.

Thanks Mary

No

Mary I have not tried them. Only look at the reviews and what the author says it is suppose to do.

Have used https://goo.gl/QD7Jal and https://goo.gl/BfjYf for cameras though. May be able to put more then cameras in the file but not sure about limit on storage allowed.

Thanks

I will try the POI Loader lite to see if it is what I want.
I search Google Play and did not come up with this. I even searched just POI. I guess I wasn't putting in what the search engine was looking for.

Thanks very much, Mary

POI Loader

I have the POI Loader for Android.
I used the EPE program and changed the .gpx to M-CSV and to 4 column CSV.

Neither of these work.

I can use the CSV files in POI Loader I download from POI-Factory and they work great.

Does anyone know what format of CSV I select in EPE for my .gpx files to get the same results as the CSV files I download from here?

Thanks, Mary

ALSO

Are there any other programs any of you use to keep your Custom POIs on your Android?

Mary,
I assume when you open EPE that you have done
Options > 4 Col CSV Fields and made sure that "1-User Profile" is selected. This has the following:
Col 1 - longitude
Col 2 - latitude
Col 3 - POI Name
Col 4 - Address City State Postcode etc

After this is verified, then "Close" the 4-Column CSV Fields Assignment dialog.

Then, do a "Save As" and change the "Save as type" to "4-Column CSV" Then, enter a file name and click "save".

Now, you should have a .csv file similar to any that you would download from here.

Also can save...

You can also do the "Save As" and find the "save as type:" to Garmin csv (*.csv)

That way you don't need to change your User Profile.

Garmi csv

Mary just like bobkz posted .The file you put into EPE just click save as and using the down arrow for save as type select Garmin csv(*.csv) and you will be good to go. Just curious how many files are you loading and are you using the Lite Version for android?

I did most of that

I did save as and tried drop downs:
M-column CSV
4-column CSV
Garmin CSV

This is what the web page said on POI Loader: (I assume this is the 4-column CSV)

Excel type view (do not include the first/header row, reference only):
Longitude Latitude POI Name POI Snippet Marker (optional)

I am using Lite and if I like it will buy the other

One file only has 8 POIs in it

One file has about 15 POIs in it

The Burger_King_USA_CAN.csv that I downloaded from here works great.

I have only tried two of my custom files as I want to get it to work before I put all my files in.

Thanks everyone for all the help.

LocusMap

Mary, its possible to import poi files to at least Sygic, copilot and proabobly some more, I have give up them all and manage all my poi files with Locus Map.
It comes as free or pay and basicly i use it for planning with all my pois on a map, when i have decide i simply push the icon on the map and choose a navigator-app to take me there.
Locus handle Kmz,Kml,Gpx etc. With internet i can choose a lot of maps, without internet i have preloaded open street maps.
I could go on here (almost forever) but a picture says more then thousand words, lets have a look at my movie instead. smile

Best regards Jocke.

ps, give the free version a try, it has some limitation in online map selection and some ads i guess, dont by it before you try it out.

Sorry, I need to pay attention to what I read

When I pasted the file format from POI Loader's web page I saw it said not to put the 1st line in.....
I put the 4-column CSV in Excel and deleted the title row and IT WORKED.

Sorry for any trouble... and THANKS so much for all you help and suggestions as I have read the directions several times and never saw this.

Thanks for all being so great...

Can you import POIs (GPX) you have already made or do you have to make them on this APP?

Will it open Here or other navigation apps?

It does look great.

Thanks, Mary

I use gpx files that i made

I use gpx files that i made with Extra poi editor, its possible to edit them in the app but i dont build the file in my phone
Kmz and kml from google MyMaps works fine.
For testing i tried WalMart (most popular today) Locus could import and show the OV2 file, the app did not like the csv file.
If i want a specific icon for a file i put the file and the icon in a zipfolder and import it to the app, same name for file and icon and it accepts Png icons.

Edit, forgotten one question. Yes it cooperates nice with Here and some more.

Copilot

You mentioned Copilot earlier and it made me think I might try it again as I paid for the premium app I may as well try again to use it.

I put it on my Note 4and this time it worked great. I think I tried it on the Note 4 just before or just after Lollypop and maybe hey dod not have the app ready for the new Android system.
Now I have to review a post on here somewhere to see how to import my files.

Thanks for all the help.
