Hopefully there won't be a nutty suicidal co-pilot!

Most Airlines require there be 2 persons in the cockpit at all times.
The one that didn't is probably rethinking that policy now.

Don't worry, just enjoy.
Where in Europe are you going?
We have been several times. It is a very nice place to travel and it is so different than the US.
Enjoy.

Trip Planning using a Nuvi 50

Until I started using my Nuvi 50, I used to plan (golfing)trips on my PC and then transfer the routes to my 855. Now I find I cannot transfer routes to my Nuvi 50 using Basecamp.

I believe the workaround is to plan the trip on the computer, create a waypoint after every junction, transfer the waypoints to the Nuvi 50 and try to plan the trip using these waypoints. Seems like a lot of work for what used to be a simple route transfer.

Is there a simpler way for the 50?

PS...I use my iMac almost exclusively now but would gladly use the PC if there is a solution there.

You went from a high-end model in the 855 to an entry-level with the 50 and that change loses the multipoint routing ability. As an entry level unit the 50 does only one intermediate point between its current location and the end point.

Units are cheap enough you could do a little research on the Garmin site to find one that supports multipoint routing and then look for used or refurb. I replaced my 885 with the 3795. My daughter now uses "Gertie."

Illiterate? Write for free help.

Thanks Boxcar

I gave my 855 to my daughter and it is 3000 miles away so I cannot 're-acquire' it.

I believe the Nuvi 2597 accepts routes and is 5" for these tired eyes. I'll look into getting one. I can always use the 50 on my motorcycle where my routes are usually not complicated.

I have the 2597 and it will do all that you want to do, and more. It has Voice Command and Trends.

Happy July 4th!

I hope everyone has a safe holiday, without those pesky firework injuries. One of my dogs doesn't handle power tools, thunder, loud motorcycles or other noises. A thunder shirt and calms only helps mildly. This is always a stressful week for her.
