Hello
With the great work of this forum I have successfully used POI Loader, sox.exe, created POI's using GPS coordinates in .gpx and made wav files. I have made 8 different POI's and the file name of each POI is identical to the .wav file except for the extension.
POI Loader loads the files correctly using the manual button and adding a Proximity alert (distance)to each file. They all arrive on the Garmin as POI's .. But ... only the first one on the list works when on the road.
Each POI and wave file is identical except the extension. Each POI is different to each other POI so they can be identified. I have loaded and re loaded, but still only the first one works in the listing on the Garmin.
Have I missed something ladies and gentleman???
I have a beer for the one who can work it out. Well a beer in thought due to distance.
Thanking you in advance
Geoff
Did you place each POI into
Did you place each POI into its own folder before uploading with POI Loader?

Way back when... I
Way back when... I encountered an issue where things didn't work correctly, and it ended up being I had too many files per directory...
This was years ago... I saved a read.me file with this limitation, and I just read it, and limitation is <32 files per directory, and 32 directories as a maximum.
I changed the directory structure such that I followed the limitations, and never encountered an issue after that!

Make sure you have followed the instructions per this link http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25730 . Now to make sure you do have a alert distance set.Turn on your GPS,select one of the categories you have for example Burger King, select any of the individual pois for that category and touch it.Now touch the i next to GO.If you have a alert set up it will show under Alert Information on the screen. Example 1.5 mi.
If you are just driving by and not navigating to a poi you have a alert set up for. The coordinates will need to be set withing 50 to 90 ft on the road of travel for you to receive the alert. They may be set for the Building and not on the road .If you set the poi as a destination do you get the alert? Also look at http://www.poi-factory.com/node/25721 for setting up custom pois. See https://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/case.faces?... for route simulation to save you some travel.

This is often a fairly common newbie error in using POI Loader. Back in the old days (when dirt was new) the file created by POI Loader was always POI.GPI. Now it defaults to < Folder name >.gpi. Just as with any computer system, it abhors duplicates so if a second run of POI Loader is run without changing the folder the existing one is overwritten.
What most here will recommend is using the sub-folder method in that you create a folder that will hold all your POI and within that folder you create subfolders for each grouping or category of files. You would end up with a single folder and you can put as many as 32 subfolders inside that single folder. You can't put a folder inside a folder that's inside a folder, only one level of subfolders is allowed.
Each POI and wave file is identical except the extension. Each POI is different to each other POI so they can be identified. I have loaded and re loaded, but still only the first one works in the listing on the Garmin.

One more thing to look for, and that requires a little more detective work. The sound files for units has to be in Mono. I believe all the files CharlesD converted are mono so as long as you use these, it shouldn't be a problem. If you suspect any of your sound files may be stereo because they won't play, use a program to convert them to mono. Several different ones are available and the free ones are the right price.
