First Long enough Drive with Junction View Nuve 2689

Though we've had the 2689 for a little over a month, Yesterday was the first long enough ride to see multiple Junction Views... We had seen a couple prior, We had heard about them here....but coming from a 660, weren't exactly certain those were JV's. They were...

So Yesterday we saw two different types... Which I'll refer to as: 1/2 view, and 1/3 view.

It appears to me that: Depending on the complexity of the roadmap at the time, the 2689 either displays the map on 1/2 or 2/3 of the screen with Junction View filling the rest....

Again.... Coming from the 660, the 1/2 screen Map is slightly less than than the 660.. The 2/3 screen Map is equal to or slighly greater than the 660....

So my gut feeling after a full day of Junction View for the 2689 is I'm happy with 1/2 & 1/3 screen Junction Views......
But....
If I had a 660--sized screen With Junction View, I would have preferred a Full Screen Junction View...

I belive my preference is totally due to the size of the screen!!!

My $.02

A 2689LMT in both our cars that we love... and a Nuvi 660 with Lifetime Maps that we have had literally forever.... And a 2011 Ford Escape with Nav System that is totally ignored!

Wouldn't a normal

Wouldn't a normal split screen junction view displayed at 800 x 480 pixels on a 6" screen be almost as big, display at twice the resolution, and stay on the screen through the "complex" maneuver longer, be better overall than the full screen junction view on a 660's 4" screen with 480 x 272 pixel resolution, and which disappears long before you actually make the maneuver being shown on the view? Even a Full Screen View on a 2689 big screen doesn't stay on the screen long enough to be of great value IMHO.

Also I think what you maybe seeing in Junction View picture sizes are actually 2 different things. The 1/2 screen views are probably Active Land Guidance screens, and maybe Bird's Eye views, while the small views are normal Junction Views. That's what it looks like on https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/on-the-road/automotive/2014-... under the heading Easily Navigate Complex Interchanges.
