Call Button feature with Custom POI's loaded to the Chrysler Media Center 430N?

Has anyone found a way around this? The pre-loaded POIs do allow one to call the phone number via Bluetooth.

Does the Call Button feature work with Custom POI's that are loaded to the Chrysler Media Center 430N?

The Chrysler Media Center 430N supports the ability to manually transfer Custom POI's that are accessed by selecting the Extras feature via Where To? on the Garmin Navigation portion of the device. While Custom POI's support phone number information for display purposes you cannot directly call a Custom POI as there is no call button displayed on the screen.

i believe

I believe you are limited to using only CSV files in the Chrysler units. Garmin only supports dialing in a GPX format.

GPX can be used to create the GPI file

One can use a GPX as the input source for the GPI file that Garmin loads for custom POIs. As mention in the FAQ I was able to load the phone number as information but it doesn't allow one to call that number as no call button is given. I was wondering if someone did manage to either "hack" the system to give a call button (unlikely) or (more likely) managed to fool the system to load custom POIs as "pre-loaded ones" as the pre-loaded ones allow the unit to dial out.

as you use GPI files

It has to be in the programming Garmin supplies in the unit at the request of Chrysler. Not being able to dial phone numbers from custom POI could be seen as a trigger to updating the maps through Chrysler rather than using third party maps like Open Street Maps.

The limitations and unpredictability of available features found in many in-dash units are a reason I refuse to consider one.
