Red Light Camera Alerts with my Nuvi 2597

My Nuvi 2597 is acting strange. As soon as I pull onto a street that has a red light camera I get an alert, even if the camera is over a mile away. I get two alerts at that point and a short time later I get another alert. Then I get the alert at the distance I have set.
Any ideas?

Alert

By chance do you have a TourGuide file set up for another file? I had that problem some time ago as a result of the radius set for one poi caused another one to go off. Both pois were in the radius causing both to alert even though only one was suppose to. Also do you have your alerts setting to single or continuous?

Alert

I am not using TourGuide on any files. Alerts are on single.

what have you changed?

Have you changed any settings? The other more likely cause would be the file date included in the name. A date of 120514 would be 120,514 feet which the unit would probably truncate to something less than the almost 23 miles the footage equates to.

try changing the alerts distance

You might try changing the alerts distance when you download the newer poi RLC update. You could reduce it to say, 800 to 1,000 feet which may result in an alert which better suits your particular situation.

I found it.

I have my POIs in separate folders. (I don't use that many.) At some point a GPI file for Red Light Camera got loaded into the Rest Areas folder along with the Rest Areas GPI. I deleted the Red Light Camera GPI and all is well.

That will do it.

Good for you for looking around to find it.
