Provided an Intro on the Welcome Forum. Using GPSBabel and POI DownLoader I downloaded a particular POI file in CSV format and then successfully translated it to GPX. However when I open the file on BaseCamp the coordinates are all over the ma. Everywhere but where they are suppose to be. Yet if I do each location one at a time they are spot on. What am I doing wrong?
.
What file? From where?
How did you "translate it to GPX"?
also
A great many of the CSV files on this site also have GPX versions that read into BaseCamp without error.
Illiterate? Write for free help.
I downloaded the Honda
I downloaded the Honda Dealers POI in CSV format. Using GPS Babel I translated it to GPX. When I then load it into Basecamp the locations are all in the south Atlantic ocean. If I do one location at a time by breaking them out individually then the locations are spot on. figure I am doing something wrong but have no idea what.
Thanks. the one I picked
Thanks. the one I picked did not have GPX as an option.
My guess

I've never worked with this but do remember common "South Atlantic" issues being discussed here before. Check your settings. I expect that there's a mixup somewhere that needs to be reversed. See:

The above links may explain why your batch conversion fails. The reason your individual conversions are spot on may well be that it asks for lat/long coordinates and you supply them in the correct order on a location by location conversion while your batch converter offers them in reverse order.

You are on the right track, but I am thinking you may try this..... omit POI loader for now (used to load POI into the GPS to a folder or icon/category ex: Extras (Zumo 660),
Now, save your converted CSV to GPX file to your computer in a file or folder (now a gpx file)... then in BaseCamp you can make a LIST for the new GPX file then use FILE>IMPORT that file into the named list.
The file will download and should be in proper place.

Possible error
I tried the Honda Dealers USA, with GPSbabel..
Converting from CSV file to gdb (basecamp accepted) and the GPX HML ... I get the same error messaage.
"Invalid longitude 854.366667 in waypoint ''.
Appears the Tom Tom version is working OK.

Is it not the easiest to use EPE to convert from one format to another??

What are you trying to accomplish? If we knew that, we might be able to make suggestions as to how best to accomplish what you want.
