All my POI's point to the south Atlantic

Just downloaded Walmart, Rest areas, and Truck/fuel stations. When I try to navigate to any of these map shows them all located in the Atlantic south of Liberia. Anybody know whats up with this?

Perhaps?

The first place I would look would be to check if the Latitude and Longitude have been interchanged. You don't say what GPS you have, and it may be that this is your issue.

If you are using online maps such as Google Maps or MapQuest, many of them expect the coordinates to be in the order of latitude longitude while the coordinates in Poi Factory's csv files are in the order of longitude latitude (i.e. standard Garmin order).

If you mean the map on your Garmin, which model are you using and what Map is on it? What version of POI Loader are you using.

Did you manipulate the files with any other software after you downloaded them from Poi Factory?

It certainly sounds like you downloaded the above files from poi-factory but please verify that.

Ok, you downloaded .csv files. What did you use to put them onto the device? And, which device(s) was it?

Why I like .gpx files

I don't know, but the ability of folks to help you would be improved with more information. I think it would be good to focus on just one of the offending POIs for the details, and best if you could supply:

1. Just what source did your download come from?
2. Exactly what kind of file was it after download to your PC?
3. How did you load it to the GPS?
4. For one single POI:
a. Open the file you downloaded on your PC with a text editor (if Windows I suggest notepad), find the POI of interest, and copy the complete entry and paste it here in your response.
b. Find the POI on your GPS, and if your GPS allows it and you can figure out how, select it for editing and type here the Latitude and Longitude as it is represented there
c. Just use a function on your GPS which displays the POI location, and type here the latitude and longitude your GPS says is the center of your current field of view.
