Error Saving Custom POIs to Favorites

confused I have created some Custom POIs using EPE and they work fine. I get the proper alerts. I can set a route to any of them with no problems. However, when I try to save the Custom POIs to the my FAVORITES on my Garmin Nuvi 40LM, they show up but, the location is dramatically changed.

For example, I set a POI for a library about a half mile from my home near Philly. If I use the listing from the Custom POI file, it gives me a route to the right location but, if I save the POI to my FAVORITES and try to get directions, the Nuvi 40LM tells me it can not create a route. A little checking and I noticed that it now shows the location as in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa.

I can think of plenty of work arounds to save these locations to my favorites so it's not a big issue but, I am curios about this. Is this a known issue? Is there something I'm doing wrong? All I do is select SAVE. I can't imagine how I'm doing that wrong but, who knows? Does anyone have any info on this?

EPE settings.

I had the same problem early last year. Change your preference settings in EPE.

Help me understand what you did because selecting "SAVE" in EPE does not make sense to me. What file did you open in EPE?

Your Favorites (or Saved Places on newer models) are contained in current.gpx but that file is an output only file written at boottime from the internal memory of the unit. A new .gpx file in the folder with current.gpx will be merged with internal memory and written to a new current.gpx file.
