SD Card Formatter

I was looking for information about SD speeds and came across this about formatting SD cards.

It is strongly recommended to use the SD Formatter instead of formatting utilities provided with operating systems that format various types of storage media. Using generic formatting utilities may result in less than optimal performance for your memory cards.

BTW: This is a link to the information on Speed Class on the same site:

Thanks

Thanks for the tip. I've used SD Formatter quite a bit in the past but see that I use v2. I've now updated to v4.

Thank you

Very useful information.

My current one on my system

My current one on my system is a 3.1 SDFormatter. I think I'll update to the new one.

I'll try it

What ticks me off is that when formatting with the Windows program there is always some invisible file.
Maybe this program will be different.

I expect it'll work

I used SD Formatter when I was loading the Android OS to a SD card for use in a Nook Color 7" tablet. The Android system created more than one partition on the SD card. The beauty of SD Formatter is that it truly formatted all the created-partitions to a single one again during the format. If it can wipe out multi-partitions, it should have no problem with a few invisible files.
