Routes from 2013 Streets & Trips exported successfully to Garmin Nuvi 2595.

I have visited numerous forums over the web but after searching, reading and watching, I have finally achieve this task
I have successfully created routes in 2013 Streets & Trips, and then transferred these files to the GPX folder on my Nuvi 2595. The nuvi actually recognised these files.
Unfortunately, the actual routes are not transferred but only the individual waypoints. Then, the nuvi 2595 creates its own routes between the waypoints. It is necessary to examine the created routes and you may have to introduce additional waypoints to change sections of these routes to different roads, if required.
Steps:
1. Create route in 2013 Strees and Trips.
2. Data - Export to GPX file.
3. Open GPX file with Wordpad or notepad or etc..
4. Use "Replace all" operation to replace Invalid DateTime-04:00 with the first valid date that appears in the document. This date seems to be the date of the creation of the GPX file. Example: 2014-08-18T18:18:20 is the first date in my GPX file.
5. Save the modified GPX file which should have the identical name to the original GPX file. Extension must be (.gpx).
6. Copy the GPX file to the GPX folder in the internal memory of the nuvi 2595.
7. The gpx file appears in the Trip Planner App of the Nuvi 2595.

I also discovered that the GPX file would not work if the routes encounter an excessive number of driving directions. Example : Nova Scotia to Yellowknife, NWT would not work. The limit on the number of driving directions has not been identified at this time.
This beats manually typing in all the waypoints, instead just picking or inserting waypoints and POI points from files created by others (POI Factory, Streets_POIMega file, or etc.)
I still like to use Streets and Trips, but I am trying to learn to use Basecamp. But I am getting confused on using waypoints, tracks and routes and even the videos require excessive amount of time to watch and practice. Routes created in Google Map needs software to convert from KLM to gpx files and lack the use of POI files.
It is my opinion, S&T seems easier to use and has greater resources to POI's.

Hope this helps

The

The biggest problem is that Streets & Trips went the way of Windows XP as of July 1st. No more updates, no more support, no more anything for S&T. sad

It will still work for you but the maps are eventually going to get so outdated that they won't be of much use, but that's probably a few years away.

Good point by the way of how to correct the invalid DateTime entry. I recently learned of a great program called ITN Converter that converts a ton of different file types very fast and easily. Running the S&T gpx file through ITN results in a usable gpx file for the Nuvi. You can download ITN from:

I've also found 2 other programs that will allow you to create working gpx route files for the Nuvi. One is called TyretoTravel and can be downloaded from:

The second is the web based Mapquest.com which has a good SEND function that will allow both route and waypoint transfers to the Nuvi.
