POI files with Europe Maps

I am going to Europe and have made a number of TourGuide POI's. I loaded the resulting GPX file into my Zumo 665 using POILoader and I cannot get the POI's to show up. When I go to "Extras" on the Zumo and press on POI, I get the message "No matches found." When I load a GPX file with TourGuide points in the USA and Canada, no problem. I am using a SD with Europe maps, which seems to work fine for my Europe routes.
Thanks,
Rod

Have

Have you disabled the North America maps on the Zumo and insured that the Europe maps on the SD card are selected and seen by the Zumo?

Have you put the GPS in "simulation mode" and set your location somewhere in Europe before you've attempted to select a POI?

Wow!! Thank you very much! I had not put the GPS in "simulation mode" and set my location somewhere in Europe. Now the TourGuides work perfectly.
Thanks again,
Rod

That has happened to me sometimes too.

I don't recall exactly what I did but think it may have been this:

Click on [Post Comment] button.
Hit the IE backward arrow
Page does not fill, so hit the refresh key (F5)

Could be

Could be but it only happens to me when I'm using my Android smartphone or tablet. sad

tap also causes the post to repeat. Phones (and tablets) often repeat characters when you hold a key. It's easy to hold a button position just a shade too long on a screen. The delay between a single character and a repeat is much shorter than it is on a PC.

And you are not the only one that gets more than 1 post.

On PC's too

Sometimes when the site is slow and it does not seem to accept your "Post comment", we have a tendency to hit "Post comment" again, hence a double post.

This definitely does it. I used to make this mistake and double post quite frequently. I have finally broken my bad habit (mostly) of using the back arrow after posting.

I think this habit results from an unfortunate flaw in this forum software. After posting, the forum software should automatically refresh the page showing your new post. But it doesn't, so you have to take some action to get back to the current page of the thread and the back arrow seems like the logical choice. But as Evert has shown, that gets you into a situation where it is easy to acciently double post.

Back

I use Mozilla Firefox and I don't just click the back arrow, I "right mouse" click it and I can back up to where I want to go. Also if you just scroll up and return to "unread posts" you should not be double posting.

Well

Well this thread has certainly gone off the rails. grin

I use Firefox on the PC and have never had a double post on this site. Just click "Post Comment" and be done with it.

On the phone or the tablet no matter how I press "Post Comment" it will double post from the phone maybe 80% of the time and almost 100% from the tablet.

I'm a member of many forums and this is the only site that this happens with. It's also the only site that will ALWAYS take you back to the first page of a multi page thread when you post, and will not let you delete your own posts. But those issues are more off topic than the double post comment.

Sorry about that. smile
