Power: My phone would use power faster than the charger could supply it. I fixed it with a more powerful charger (which was harder to find a two years ago than it is now). I don't think I could use Waze for more than an hour or two if it wasn't plugged in.
Heat: My phone still gets quite warm when using Waze but not warm enough to hurt the phone.
Waze seems to use a lot of processing power, however I am still able to use other apps on my phone, such as Pandora or the telephone while using Waze. Isn't the phone what I bought the thing for in the first place - I can't remember.

I know it's not that old, the only problem I had was when I didn't have any cell service

It works, but sometimes I think it does not speak when it should?

On my Galaxy Core, it works fine.
