is the My Pi pizza chain still in existence?

Best dang pizza I ever had when I lived in Miami!

If it is then we need a POI for it!

I was just curious if the chain was still around as that was my first experience with Chicago style pizza (c1980).

The chain had a great sound system and I believe the components were for sale as well!

This is WAY off topic, but I just moved to Columbus Oh and can't find a pizza place worth anything after leaving Chicago... Anyone have suggestions??? (moving back to Chicago isn't an option).

Try www.papamurphys.com/ When I lived in IA, it was the best. It is a take-an-bake style but they are good. Their web site showed 3 in your area.

We just had that last night for dinner, yummy yummy.

I uploaded a couple POIs this weekend for Portillo's and Giordano's. They can be added to the Chicago project as well. These two are my measuring stick when it comes to Pizza or Italian Beef. Makes we want to take a trip back home for some real food.

I've uploaded Home Run Inn Pizza as well. Also a Chicago favorite.

I have been gathering a list of Free Wireless Internet (WiFi) Access Points in the Chicago, IL (Area). No hotels listed, but very interesting locations including many cafe's, coffee, tea, deli's and a few brew pubs too. My list is obviously is incomplete (79 total). I am looking for additions from other users to complete this on-going project. Email me here and I will send you my list.

For those of you that love Chicago Deep Dish Pizza - just uploaded Lou Malnati's Pizzeria POI - enjoy!

On Sunday, I created a POI file for Potbelly Sandwich Works (all locations, not just Chicago). The file also includes future locations as noted on their website, most of which will open this fall.

I also created a BMP icon, and will send that to Miss POI.

I don't know how helpful this is for others, but I uploaded POI with all of the restaurants in the Chicago area offering Brazilian style food selections (my wife is from Brazil, we try to hit a few each time we're in Chicago).

I have noticed even though it is snowing 6inches of snow right now that there aren't any tennis courts. Could use indoor and outdoor courts for a POI. Just a thought

Chicago is using a lot of cameras for rail road crossings. If you drive over the white line while the gates are down, you get a $500.00 ticket in the mail. Another good one is the 'blue light' districts. There are boxes mounted that you can use to nitify police for emergency situations.

Shoot, I don't know how to make a POI file. I can use the tutorial.

How can I update a POI file for Lou Malnati's Pizza a Chicagoland Pizza restaurant?

There is a new location in Lakewood IL close to Crystal Lake, IL.

The coordinates are N42°12.267' W088°22.287'

From reading the information here, I realized I can edit the Malnati's POI. However, when I put the coordinates and other information in the file, everything looks great except the location is off by several miles. There must be another way to describe the coordinates other than what I copied off of my Garmin iQue and what I posted above.

What am I doing wrong?

you need to switch your Longitude and Latitude coordinates to the other format.

Thanks. When i switched from Degrees, Minutes and Seconds to Decimal Degrees that got it spot on.

I used Google Earth to find the location and get the coordinates.

This is what i added to the file.

I have a POI file for most of the Charter One banks in the Chicago area, its the first one that I've done and I do not know how to post it...If someone will be so kind as to let me know.

Is there a project in process for making an overall list of all restaurants in Chicago?

This is GREAT! I grew up in Brazil (Minas Gerais and Rio Grande to Sul - your wife will know where they are) and am always looking for Brazilian places.

And now, with my daughter moving to Evanston for graduate school, I'll be in Chicago more than ever for the next couple of years.

I think the Offbeat Tourist Attractions for Illinois should be added to the Chicago Metro project as many items listed are in the Chicago Metro area.

I would be willing to work on the Dominick's stores if you send me the Excel file.

The offbeat IL file really just a part of the big file. The file has all of the states then was broken down for the states as requested. I would prefer it to be the one large file since it is easyer to work with. If this was in all the differnt areas, it would be very hard to update.

I am going to keep it the way it is unless some better way comes along to keep a good updated file(s)

I am surprised that the Dominick's group is not listed on the Chicago Metro project. After all it is Chicago's branch of Safeway. They are only around the Chicago Metro area.

Should this file be linked to the Chicago Metro Project? I know this is more then just Chicago, but the majority would be in the Metro area.

I am not able to tell what cities are covered in that file. I really want the Metro area files to cover just the subject area please.
