You're driving down the road

and you see a POI. How do you mark it?

I have terrible memory, and by the time I get to where I'm going I tend to forget.

Any advice?

Stop the car

Stop the car. Press your vehicle icon on the screen. Save location and name it.

For a minute I thought that this was going to be one of those knock-knock type of joke threads. Oh, never mind. razz

I did what David says but

I did what David says but without stopping. The POI may be slightly off the mark but it's easy to go back to it later with Google map to fine tune it.

If you can't stop

Then "marking" on the fly works close enough. Done it many times. Just be safe and have a passenger do it for you, don't do it while you are driving, that would be akin to texting while driving IMHO.

I never get lost, but I do explore new territory every now and then.

.

Hit Tools/ Where Am I/ and save. Have done it on the fly, you just have to time it right... smile

On the fly

I tap the map screen once. On the next screen, tap again. Then return to Main screen. The location is saved to your "Recently Found" page.
Or, like David says. Stop & save with name to "Favorites."

mark the spot now and name it later

I don't worry about the name. I just mark it on the fly and put in a name later or just hit a letter key and save it. Later, I change the name to something meaningful. Also, the new favorite is saved in the category "Address Book". When I rename the favorite, I change the category to one of those that I use.
