Restoring Factory Files to Garmin 465T

There are programs available to recover deleted files. (Recovery programs)
In the case of PC the file is not really deleted until something else writes over it. All that happens is that the first letter of the file is replaced with a meaningless symbol etc.

This should also work on a GPS.

Lesson learned from this!

It might be easier if someone would just send him the actual file the OP needs.

Are you talking about a National Truck & Trailer Services (NTTS) file. Where did you get it originally?

I assume your unit still attaches to your computer. If so, get a copy of Recuva from http://www.piriform.com/recuva/builds.

Run Recuva it on the nuvi drive and see if you get lucky.

I don't know if this NTTS file is somehow locked to the GPS it was installed on (as the pre-loaded maps are). That being said, I would contact Garmin support (get them on the phone if possible) and have them connect to your PC remotely and restore the deleted file to your nuvi.

Garmin needs to lock these files to the device so they cannot be inadvertently deleted. I have to commend Garmin though, they took good care of me when I deleted mine. Hope they come through for you.
