Garmin StreetPilot & NAVIGON iOS apps On Sale thru 8/4/13

With summer travel season in full swing, the Garmin and NAVIGON smartphone navigation apps are up to 25 percent off until August 4, 2013. No matter where you travel, Garmin’s navigation apps can show you the way. Both apps save the maps on the phone, so you won’t get lost even if you loose cell reception. The trip planning feature allows you to plan a whole road trip from your couch, so you don't have to worry about searching for places and entering them into the app while on your way. Other helpful features include speed limit warnings, real-time traffic (in app purchase), lane assistance, and much more. The Garmin StreetPilot app even shows you where to find the cheapest gas (in app purchase).

Here are the promotional prices (valid until August 4, 2013):

Garmin StreetPilot iPhone USA ($39.99 instead of $49.99)

Garmin StreetPilot iPhone USA & Canada ($44.99 instead of $59.99)

That's A Great Price

I have used the Garmin North America app on my iPhone side-by-side with CN running on a Montana, and the Garmin app on iOS is just great. All on board maps and data, with the ability to go out to the cell system when needed. Both apps (Garmin and Navigon) have recently been updated, and the mapping/data. I also have the Navigon app, which is fine. I prefer the Garmin branded product since it feels more Garmin like. Both are great.

If you already have an iOS device, the price of the app is really reasonable to have a rather feature rich GPS based on your smartphone.

Garmin StreetPilot & NAVIGON iOS Apps On Sale Through 8/4/13

Thank you for the tip. I might just spring for the Navigon For Android. I bought TomTom For Android, but I miss some of the Garmin-like functionality. Even though Navigon might not be truly pure Garmin, I might give it a try.

I prefer Navigon to StreetPilot

I have both... For me, Navigon is closer to my end user experience on a Nuvi765t than StreetPilot. Go for Navigon.

Personally for me I purchase a refurbished one at Walmart with

life time map update cost about $60. That is my personal reference.

Nuvi is better

The iPhone has is benefits for convenience but I much prefer a regular Nuvi. No data connection required and a much larger screen - especially the awesome new 7" Nuvi 2797LMT.

If you want a real big screen experience, put Navigon on an iPad... or an iPad mini.

And while you may prefer the Nuvi, there are plenty of people here who are open to considering options... and I'm just sharing some options.... but hey, thanks for sharing your preference anyway...

Garmin USA iOS App Emulates Navigon

The updated Garmin USA iOS app has themes, and one of them is called 'Navigon', which makes the Garmin USA iOS app look like Navigon.

The iOS Navigon app does not emulate the Garmin iOS app.

Why do PND owners constantly feel the need to chime in on the smartphone forum? Maybe I'll start posting to every Garmin thread about my smartphone.

Don't. No need to illustrate the absurdity what they do by doing what they do... smile

I looked at the price histories for StreetPilot and NAVIGON IOS apps. Don't worry about missing the sale because there's a price drop about every other month.

They seem to go on sale around holidays that are known for lots of car travel... and sometimes when they release a new version... perhaps the next price drop will be in time for Labor Day...
