frustration averted (probably)

Looks like a new map update is available or has been....instead of fooling with express, since last time garmin told me not to use it as it is often problematic, I simply went to mapupdater and it will probably work the first time. smile

Nothing like waiting 2 hours to see something fail, then try again for another 2 hours for the same thing (at least that was my experience with express)

Not looking to do Garmin's QA on their software, just want the LM!

There are numerous posts on GE

It has been recommended numerous times to use mapupdater. There are to many issues that are in GE. It works on some but not all.

Glad you went that way.

I gave up on Garmin Express after the 2013.40 update. Screwed up so many times that I went with Mapupdater and have not looked back.

If you don't update your maps because "Not too many new roads here NYC/LI metro area," why do you need a new unit?

Replace

I guess mminitz wants the new features. There is seldom a need for something new.

GE works for me

Never had a problem with Garmin Express. The only thing that is going to make me replace my 765T is it's decreasing sensitivity to touch on the screen. I now have to bang it pretty hard to get any action out of it.

lol

These folks keep the economy going, as the 47% often does. I mean when my new ThinkPad said it needed some sort of silly firmware update for ThinkVantage Power Manager, rather than accepting the update, I simply threw the laptop out and got a new one. I'd rather spend $3,800 for a new laptop than have to deal with one that doesn't have all the latest features (the irony of this thinking is that most electronics have been cheapified, i.e. the older stuff is more solid than the newer stuff).

worked

Updater worked first time, no problems..... smile

Maybe not many new roads for you but a new word for me!

Thanks mmoonitz for the new word and for keeping the enconomy going with your purchases!

Never heard of the word "agita" until reading your post. Checked it out on Merriam-Webster site.

It is a realtively new word. First known use in 1981.

I'm not the only one intrigued by the word. "Agita" is currently in the top 10% of lookups on Merriam-Webster.com.

For those not in the know, "agita" means "a feeling of agitation or anxiety".

No Problem With GE

Guess I was lucky again. Garmin Express worked for me on this update. I only update my maps once or twice a year depending on travel plans. It seems like every time I do they have a new version of GE that has to be installed first and it does take awhile to do the map update but it went smooth.
