I have a nuvi 205, I also use Basecamp and have some custom waypoint symbols and would like to know if there is a way to put them on my SD card in my GPS?

I don't think that having the custom symbols on the SD card would do you any good because there would not be a way to attach them to anything.
If your do Where To? > Favorites > Edit and pick a favorite, you will be able to choose a "symbol" for that favorite and save it; that may accomplish what you want.
I think the symbols on the 205 are the same as those in BaseCamp.
