rand mcnally navigator

Hello All,
Been a long time since I've posted but I do lurk daily! Recently I've been looking at the new gps's and the Rand McNally navigator looks interesting and I'm wondering if anyone here has one and what their experience has been? I can't determine if these units can use custom poi's, does anyone know if they are capable of using them? My lil i3 is still used daily and I just want more for longer trips. Just want the best bang for my buck and accuracy is important so I only want units that employ Navteq mapping and have SirfstarIII chipset.

Thanx for the input!

Ray

P.S. Jonathan and Maryann your poi empire looks fantastic! Thank you for your efforts!

Raybonz, It makes me happy

Raybonz,

It makes me happy when you pop back in and say hi, you have been with us since the very beginning. I would be very sad if you stopped peeking in from time to time to say hi.

Miss Poi

We have grown a little over the last few months haven't we;)

Hello Maryann, Actually I

Hello Maryann,
Actually I visit here nearly every day. Yes, this site has become a huge success but that comes as no surprise to me. The reason I don't post is because pretty much everything has been said. Owning an i3 the learning curve is tiny but I plan on getting a new unit eventually and I am sure I'll post a bit more then. Life has been busy lately with the return of good weather plus I have a new HDTV and the RedSox are a passion of mine soooooo you know where I am. Please say hello to Jon.

Take Care,
Ray

Come on people! I can't

Come on people! I can't believe the lack of replies on such a different gps. This is the ONLY gps that comes with paper maps for trip planning and general overviews. To me that is a good idea.. I like Garmin but their prices are too high so I am considering the competition too. Garmin support is known to be great but I've never had to call them and I think most gps's are pretty reliable. As for adding in music and video players I doubt I'll ever use that stuff. There isn't a portable gps on earth that can hold a candle to my $99.00 50wx4 Pioneer! That extra junk just wastes space and slows the gps from what it has to do.... Navigate!!!

My 2 cents,
Ray

I Concur

I agree with you completely. I want my gps to navigate. Nothing more. I like my blackberry to do blackberry things, my ipod to do ipod things and I don't want to be dead in the water if one toy that does all these things fail. That would suck. Take me where I want to go and I will be a happy camper.

My guess it no one has any experience with it so you aren't getting any comments regarding it.
