Been a Navigon User for a while now, They are great GPSr's. custom POI's will be coming out maybe in this unit and will have no need for third party software to load them. then move over Garmin and get your price in check.

Rand McNally

Interesting to not that they came out with Rand McNally branded GPS not too long ago.

They didn't do that well in the marketplace.

doesn't look like Navigon will be adding custom POI support

It doesn't look like Navigon is planning on adding custom POI support any time soon as you have predicted above.

According to the thread started by GRUSH this morning, it looks more like Navigon's big CES announcement is that they are wanting to sell an additional 2.8 million POI's for $29.99, travel guides and annual $29.99 Redlight camera POI subscriptions instead of providing any utility to allow people to get their own POI's for free from sites like POI Factory:
